  • Steve the Pigeon Helps Explain Moscow Bike Infrastructure

    While studying at HSE University, students not only gain a strong theoretical foundation but also engage in rich project-based work. Many launch start-ups that later grow into major businesses or conduct significant research. For instance, students from the Contemporary Journalism Master’s programme developed a project on Moscow’s cycling infrastructure.

  • HSE Business Club in China: Student Entrepreneurs Travel to the Economic Hub of Asia

    HSE Business Club organised a trip to China for the Russian student entrepreneurial community. The participants held a series of meetings with representatives from leading universities, entrepreneurs, and top managers of both national and international companies. They explored the specific features of the Chinese business landscape and gained valuable insights into the workings of one of the world's key economic centres.

  • HSE Students of Asian and African Studies Accompany Foreign Delegations at the Victory Day Parade

    In May, official delegations from across the globe arrived in Moscow to celebrate the anniversary of Victory Day. Among the volunteers enlisted to accompany these guests were students from the HSE bachelor’s programme in Asian and African Studies: Natalya Kulakova, Polina Slobodenko, and Anton Klyuev, a graduate of the same programme and Visiting Lecturer at HSE’s School of Asian Studies.

  • Forbes University Ranking: HSE Has Top Reputation among Employers

    On May 22, Forbes Education released its updated ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia for 2025. HSE University retained its second-place position, having established itself as the university with the highest employer reputation. Among the top 20 were 12 universities from Moscow, three from St Petersburg, two from Tatarstan, and one each from the Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, and Tomsk regions.

  • Inter Football Cup: Sport, Friendship, HSE!

    On May 18, 2025, HSE University hosted the Inter Football Cup. For the third year in a row HSE students and staff from different countries took part in the event. This tournament has become a real celebration not only for football fans, but also for anyone looking to meet new people and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of friendship and unity.

  • First Digital Adult Reading Test Available on RuStore

    HSE University's Centre for Language and Brain has developed the first standardised tool for assessing Russian reading skills in adults—the LexiMetr-A test. The test is now available digitally on the RuStore platform. This application allows for a quick and effective diagnosis of reading disorders, including dyslexia, in people aged 18 and older.

  • 'Multidisciplinary Expertise Must Be Grounded in a Deep Understanding of Country Specifics'

    During the Russia—Islamic World: KazanForum held in Kazan, experts from the HSE Institute for Public Administration and Governance presented the results of studies analysing the potential for establishing multimodal transport and logistics hubs along international transport corridors. 

  • ‘Feel the Atmosphere of Different Cultures’: HSE University Holds Oriental Crazy Day

    On May 17, the eleventh Oriental Crazy Day, organised by the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, took place at the HSE Cultural Centre. Anyone interested in Asian Studies, culture and languages, as well as admission to HSE University could take part in the event. Students and teachers of the university prepared master classes, quizzes and contests, K-pop dancing and kabuki theatre, Asian songs and poetry for all the participants.

  • ‘Priceless Experience for Students and Badge of Honour for the University’

    Once a month, the HSE campus on Pokrovska hosts meetings of the Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series. This is a joint initiative by the HSE Alumni Centre and the ‘University Open to the City’ project team, where alumni give short talks sharing their experiences in career development and professional fulfilment. Anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of where they study or work.
