  • Urban Studies Experts from HSE Discuss Cooperation Prospects with Chinese Partners

    The team of the HSE Faculty of Urban and Regional Development has held a series of meetings with partners in China as part of its working visit focused on advancing cooperation. The agenda included urban and agglomeration ranking research, the development of unique educational programmes in urban studies, and other key topics.

    Moses Oluoke Omopekunola, from Nigeria, is a second-year student of the Science of Learning and Assessment programme. Intent on pursuing a career in psychometrics, he has already joined the PhD programme in Education.   • HSE Scientists Explain How to Identify Brain Areas Critical for Language Function During Surgery

    The HSE Centre for Language and Brain conducted a course on tractography, a method that enables visualisation of key brain connections and helps surgeons avoid damaging language-critical areas during surgery. The course was attended by neurosurgeons and radiologists from Moscow and other Russian regions who are interested in methods of preoperative language mapping.

  • HSE Takes Part in Sber’s Green Marathon

    The Green Marathon, organised by Sber, took place in Moscow. Several thousand people ran distances ranging from 4.2 to 21.2 kilometres, including the HSE Running Club team, HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov, and Sber’s CEO German Gref, who took part in the race alongside his son.

  • Steve the Pigeon Helps Explain Moscow Bike Infrastructure

    While studying at HSE University, students not only gain a strong theoretical foundation but also engage in rich project-based work. Many launch start-ups that later grow into major businesses or conduct significant research. For instance, students from the Contemporary Journalism Master’s programme developed a project on Moscow’s cycling infrastructure.

  • HSE University Presents Its Developments at the Positive Hack Days Fest

    On May 22-24, HSE University presented its developments and degree programmes at the Positive Hack Days International Cyber Fest. Students and specialists of the Centre for Software Development and Digital Services of HSE MIEM, the School of Software Engineering, and the MIEM Workshop for Game Engineering and Interactive Systems together with students from HSE Art and Design School greeted festival guests.

  • Forbes University Ranking: HSE Has Top Reputation among Employers

    On May 22, Forbes Education released its updated ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia for 2025. HSE University retained its second-place position, having established itself as the university with the highest employer reputation. Among the top 20 were 12 universities from Moscow, three from St Petersburg, two from Tatarstan, and one each from the Sverdlovsk, Novosibirsk, and Tomsk regions.

  • ‘It’s Thrilling to Have an Opportunity to Discuss Your Scientific Ideas with Interested People’

    The International Laboratory of Dynamical Systems and Applications at HSE University–Nizhny Novgorod conducts theoretical and applied research, including the study of ocean waves, solar corona reconnections, volcanic phenomena, and ship stability. The lab’s researchers cooperate with colleagues from China, Spain, the USA, the UK, Brazil, and other countries. Prof. Olga Pochinka spoke to the HSE News Service about the laboratory’s work.
