International conference ‘Green Economy and Quality of Life in the City’

Event ended
On October 30–31, the HSE is hosting the Green Economy and Quality of Life in the City international conference, organized by the Centre for Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
The conference is framed as a forum for a new, systemic, inter-disciplinary view on what an individual’s quality of life means in a modern metropolis. This new understanding includes environmental, social, and economic components, which are then broken down into more specific subject groups (transport, urban architectural landscape, food provision, healthcare etc.).

This event is part of the HSE’s cooperation with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation on issues in building environmentally focused and sustainable economic development.

The Centre for Environmental and Natural Resource Economics is carrying out research into issues in the development of the ‘green economy’ in Russia, reducing reliance on hydrocarbons, developing environmentally-friendly transport, and other practical aspects of this initiative, which is a priority for the country as a whole and for individual regions.

The conference is co-organized by the Higher School of Economics, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Russian German Bureau for Environmental Information, and the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design.
