The Department of Applied Political Sceince is announcing a Call for applications for the International Undergraduate Conference “Does Politics Matter? Political Research on Public Policy”. Policy Studies and public policy analysis are intensivelly developing fields of contemporary political science. The growing number of scholars pay attention to political factors of governance at large and the specific parts of policy making. Our conference is aimed at assembling young scholars interested in studying policy making at the national and subnational levels in West and East European countires, including Russia. Assuming the major students’ interest to prepare and defend high-quality bachelor paper we will focus on the discussion of the content as well as the methodological design of papers to be presented. Thus the conference aims at raising substantional as well as methodological issues of students' papers and their research activity.

Keynote speaker: Vladimir Gel’man, Professor of the European University at Saint Petersburg, Finland Distinguished Professor (Helsinki University).

The application procedure consists of two steps:

1. Fulfil the application form (contact infromation, background etc.)
2. Attach an abstract fo the paper (max. 500 words including the main research question of the analysis, theoretical framework and methodology, main thesis)
