Ежегодно на Международную программу по мировой политике поступает большое количество иностранных студентов. В 2018 году одним из поступивших был Джексон Спаркман из США, все 4 года обучения занимавший лидирующие позиции в текущем и кумулятивном рейтингах. В качестве выпускной квалификационной работы Джексон представил исследование на тему "Development of Russian Policy towards the European Green Deal (EGD)". "The topic of my Bachelor’s thesis focused on the development of Russian policy towards the European Green Deal (EGD) and addressed the various implications the Deal entails for EU-Russia relations, notably in energy trade. I chose this particular topic in light of the growing fight against climate change and the global energy transition towards more renewable energy sources. Notwithstanding geopolitical factors, Russia’s role as a major hydrocarbon exporter implies significant challenges as well as opportunities in the face of the EGD.

My experience as a student in the Higher School of Economics and University of London Parallel Degree Program ‘International Relations’ was instrumental in conducting necessary research. The program is a part of HSE’s faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, providing access to numerous experts in fields such as economics, international relations, and Russian foreign policy. My academic supervisor was especially helpful throughout the entire process by answering any questions or concerns I had as well as giving their professional insight on the novelty and limitations of my work.
My future plans include continuing my education by enrolling in HSE’s Master’s Program ‘Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development’. I am confident that my 4 years of study in international relations and my research experience here at HSE will prove useful in pursuing my postgraduate degree."
