Abstract

In this course, students will focus on the speech of so-called non-standard native speakers. The course discusses language variants and different paths of language acquisition, as well as non-standard speech analysis methods. Students will learn how to identify speech strategies that result in violations of standard language use, and how to work with non-standard texts in Russian. As part of the course, participants will also gain practical skills in automatic processing of Russian texts written by L2 and heritage authors. They will also be introduced to the main approaches and problems in the domain of language interference.
