Theme: Studying the influence of input oscillations on the behavior of working memory models
Speaker: Nikita A. Novikov (HSE Center for Neuroeconomics and Cognitive Research)
Annotation:
Working memory (RP) is the brain's ability to retain information for a short time. RP is based on the self-sustaining activity of neurons, the occurrence of which is usually modeled as the transition of a bistable system from a background state to an active one. In addition, when using RP, the collective oscillatory activity of brain networks in different frequency ranges changes. In my report, I will consider three RP models and demonstrate several possible ways in which oscillations affect RP functions: (1) cleaning the RP, (2) controlling the probability of replacing one object in the RP with another, (3) stabilizing the retention of information in the RP, (4) increasing the "accuracy" of the information held.
