The HSE Business Incubator has launched the HSE Startup Community to bring together HSE students and staff interested in entrepreneurship, and cooperation in developing their own projects. Participation in the community is free.

Fedor Kluev, a student first-year student in the Bachelor’s programme in Chemistry at HSE University, was the only first-year undergraduate student to win a prize in this year’s Student Research Paper Competition (SRPC). HSE University to Host First Game Development Hackathon GAMEDEVTECH-2020 in December
A team competition organised by the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE) will feature two leagues — one for HSE University students and another for secondary school students. The Hackathon partners are ‘MY.GAMES’ an international gaming brand that is part of Mail.ru Group, the educational website ‘GeekBrains’, and the not-for-profit Institute for Digital Transformation of Education (IDTE).

HSE Student Joins Extended Ranks of the Worldskills Russia National Team
Nikita Pershukov, a 4th-year bachelor’s student studying Information Science and Computation Technology at the HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE), has placed among the Russian national team’s expanded membership for the WorldSkills Russia competition in the ‘Network and System Administration’ category. HSE Student Wins UMNIK Innovation Project Support Programme
Pavel Samoilenko, a student at MIEM HSE, has been awarded a grant from the Innovation Promotion Foundation in support of his project which aims to develop mobile applications for navigating and visualizing 3D content inside buildings. The grant award totals 500,000 rubles.
Despite Challenges, Fair Proportion of Students Have Come to Prefer Online Education
While many students readily embraced online learning, there were also many students who found it more difficult to complete their coursework due to technical difficulties. First-year students had the hardest time adapting to the new format, and low-income students also encountered many challenges. These are some of the findings of a survey conducted as part of a joint project between the Institute of Education, the Centre for Institutional Research, and the Institute of Distance Education of Tomsk State University.
