International Data Analysis Olympiad IDAO-2021 Has Started
The registration period for the International Data Analysis Olympiad (IDAO-2021) is open until March 12. The qualifying round has already begun and will run until March 31. This year, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science and Yandex are holding the Olympiad for the fourth time. This year's Platinum Partner is Otkritie Bank. The Olympiad is organised by leading data analysts for their future colleagues—early career analysts and scientists.

Students of HSE Faculty of Computer Science Win the Quarter Finals of the World Programming Championship
Third-year students of the Bachelor’s Programme in Applied Mathematics and Information Science Ivan Safonov, Ramazan Rakhmatullin, and Maxim Gorokhovsky won the Moscow Regional Contest—the first qualifying round of the international student world programming championship ICPC 2020/2021. In total, 45 HSE University took part, with 30 of them receiving certificates of various degrees.

HSE University Student Finds Optimum Algorithm for Finding Wasserstein Barycentre
In August, Control, Information, and Optimisation school was held by Sirius education centre. At the school Daniil Tyapkin, fourth-year student of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science bachelor’s programme has found an optimum algorithm of finding Wasserstein barycentre, which he was solving throughout 2020. Faculty of Computer Science First Year Student Wins Gold at International Olympiad in Informatics
Semyon Savkin, a graduate of Moscow School No. 57 and student of HSE University’s Bachelor's Programme in Applied Mathematics and Information, has won gold in theInternational Olympiad in Informatics individual all-around among school students from 87 countries. In the unofficial team race, Russia shares second place with USA and Iran.
Student Research Paper Competition 2020 Accepting Submissions
Any student or 2020 graduate of a Russian or international university is eligible to take part in the Student Research Paper Competition. Papers can be submitted from September 1 to October 15. The competition has been held at HSE University since 2003.
