Southeast Asia: Languages, History, Cultures

(Previously the Master's in Languages and Literature of Southeast Asia)

This programme trains Asian Studies professionals who specialise in the languages, literature, and culture of Southeast Asia. The curriculum includes in-depth study of the Vietnamese language, ancient texts and modern literature, the culture, history, art, and religion of Vietnam and neighbouring countries, as well as studies of classical Chinese and Thai languages.

The programmes aims to provide a comprehensive background for experts in Asian studies, which allows graduates to pursue careers in academia (research and teaching), as well as practical fields, such as translation, journalism, analysis, public speaking, and outreach activities.
