HSE Moves Up 10 Points in THE Emerging Economies Rankings
HSE University has taken 22nd place in THE Emerging Economies Rankings, improving its position from last year. This ranking includes a total of 35 Russian universities, with 18 of them participating in the 5-100 Project.
‘Coming Here Has Been a Very Good Opportunity for Me’
HSE Preparatory Year students not only learn Russian and get ready to enroll in Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes but also explore Russian culture and way of life, which includes trying the local cuisine, sightseeing, and interacting with Russian people. How Students Spent the Longest Night of the Year
On December 21, HSE students organized an Art & Science space called ‘NOCH’ (‘NIGHT’) on the site of the SAMSKARA exhibition at the ArtPlay Design Center in Moscow. Over the course of the seven-hour event, participants discussed the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, the significance of gender differences in post-industrial society, the use of modern technologies to meld art and science, and other exciting topics.

On November 26, the HSE Faculty of Computer Science held the ‘IT Girls Night’ for the fifth time. This year the event was organized within the University of London’s campaign ‘Worldwide Conversation on Women’s Higher Education and Equality in the Workplace’. This campaign celebrates 150 years since the University of London opened up its ‘Special Examinations for Women’, the first university-level examinations offered for women in the UK. Ten years later, this step led to the University of London becoming the first institution of higher education in the UK to open up full degrees for women.

HSE Joins Two THE Subject Rankings - in Computer Science and Engineering & Technology
For the first time ever, HSE University has entered two THE subject rankings: in Computer Science (in the 301–400 group)and Engineering & Technology (in the 601-800 group). The Olympiad is held by leading experts in data analysis for their future colleagues and aims to bring together analysts, scientists, professionals, and junior researchers.
