Kyung Hee University Professor Lee Young Joe in HSE

On September 8^th the students of the two-degree program of HSE and Kyung Hee University got the chance to listen to the guest lecture by Professor Lee Young Joe from the Korean university.

The lecture topic was centered on the attempts of Chinese and Korean modernization in the XIX century. It covered the comparative retrospective of these societies at the rise of reforms and analyzed the reasons of the modernization failure. Professor paid special attention to the factors that allowed Japan to succeed in changes.

Mr. Lee Young-jo is a professor at Kyung Hee University, received a PhD political science from Harvard University. He held various government positions, including in the rank of minister.
