Furthermore, students are able to maintain simple dialogue (on the topics: family, school, work and flat rent) and translate into and from Chinese texts of at least HSK 2 level. During the third year, the course provides advanced speaking, listening and writing skills and a more detailed understanding of the structure, morphology, syntax and phonetics of the language. By the end of the third year, students are able to maintain a sustained dialogue (on the topics: shopping, Chinese cuisine, going to a restaurant) and translate into and from Chinese texts of at least HSK 3 level. In the fourth year, students improve and consolidate their speaking, listening and writing skills.
