Abstract

The authors of the course, practicing lawyers and teachers, gathered their experience and knowledge to teach students how to solve legal problems without asking lawyers. Students will get acquainted with the key concepts of Russian law, master the main areas of regulation (contractual, family, administrative law), learn where to look for information about the law and when to seek help from a lawyer. After the course, students will be able to work with documents, pay taxes and choose a tax regime, interact with public authorities, analyze contracts and identify the main risks in them, pursue violators of their rights. The course consists of two sections: "personal legal literacy" (general legal issues relevant to everyone) and "professional legal literacy" (legal knowledge for future entrepreneurs). Each section is divided into topics; videos are given on each topic (with a total duration of 60-120 minutes per topic) and additional materials. The course is conducted online, with pre-recorded (asynchronous) lectures and synchronous webinars. The discipline is based on the online course "Legal Literacy" on the National Platform "Open Education": https://openedu.ru/course/hse/leglit/
