On Tuesday Christopher Lamont gave a lecture on identifying the causes of failed state-building in Libya and Iraq

Professor of the International Strategies Institute of Tokyo International University and also the Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations at University of Groningen Christopher Lamont delivered a lecture on the topic “Explaining the Failure of State-building: The Pitfalls of Political Exclusion in Libya and Iraq”. 

Christopher Lamont - Ph.D. (Political Science), specialist in international relations, Professor at the Institute of International Strategies at Tokyo International University, the Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations at University of Groningen, HSE Guest Lecturer.

The author of the well-known work "Research Methods in International Relations” shared his research ideas about the rationales for the failure of state-building in Iraq and Libya: international and domestic aspects", as well as the particular role of non-governmental organizations that have special interests in the region. He also told about differences in strategies of the two states and their prospects for overcoming the crisis.
