A guest from Forbes Russia at the Double Degree Program: about the rules and pecularities of Media life

On Friday, November 29th, Anastasia Karpova, the deputy chief editor of Forbes Russia, delivered a lecture for students of our program. Anastasia was talking about her professional career as a journalist, the career growth in the field of media and the future development prospects of Forbes Russia. Students learned a lot of interesting and to some extent “insider” information about work in the publishing house as well as the peculiarities of communication with the media. Anastasia shared her professional experience of working with different people, as well as the difficulties she encountered while interacting with them. Summing up, Anastasia told the students about the “golden” rules of communication with journalists and “pitfalls” that can be encountered in real life. Thanks a lot to Anastasia for the time and knowledge (e.g. why it’s better not to leave the question without comment, how to find information for the interviewee, what’s the trick of the answer in the form of a letter in English - Andrey Andreev case - etc.), which she shared by dipping students in media sphere and revealing some secrets of the “inner kitchen” of this business.
