All courses are taught in Moscow, but students can also apply to study in the UK in short-term programmes such as summer schools. Staff from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) develop the BSc programme’s syllabi, prepare study materials, and evaluate student performance. Language mastery

All of your courses will be taught in English. You will also devote four years to the advanced study of a second foreign language of your choice (Eastern or European). We advise our international students to choose Russian.

While enrolled in the programme, you will:

• Gain a profound understanding of how politics and international relations operate.
• Choose one of three specialisations — International Economics and Finance, International Journalism and Global Media or Strategic Communications Management
• Complete demanding academic projects and research work demonstrating the skills and knowledge you have gained over the course of your studies.
• Do several internships in private or public organizations
• Master the analytical and communication skills needed to apply your International Relations degree in the workplace or academic field.

In addition to gaining competence in the chosen professional track, students will also have ample opportunities to build their knowledge in areas such as big data analysis in journalism, economics, and finance; social network analysis; and various aspects of media and information management as applied to international relations.

Armed with a double degree and fluency in the English language, graduates can expect to pursue careers in a wide range of fields — from corporate international departments, as expert analysts with business and investment companies and as translators, journalists and editors, to jobs in corporate and political consulting, international and intergovernmental organisations and the diplomatic corps — to name only a few.

You will also be well positioned to continue your studies in prestigious foreign master’s degree programmes.

If you are interested in enrolling in the double degree Bachelor’s programme in International Relations offered by HSE University and the University of London and have not taken the Russian Unified State Exam (EGE), you will need to follow an application process that consists of two stages:

1. Preparatory stage (remote) which involves registering in the online application system and submitting your documents
2. Examination stage (online or in Moscow), which consists of taking entrance exams in History and English. Detailed information on the admission requirements is available here
