Winners of HSE University’s Best Teacher Vote Announced
630 staff members were named top teachers at HSE University in Moscow
The list of winners for 2022 has been published on the website in Russian. The final list is based on the votes of HSE students and graduates, as well as the results of the Student Research Paper Competition. In total, 630 staff members were named best teachers.
HSE University’s Best Teachers are selected by students in a vote conducted as part of Teaching Quality Assessment, and by graduates and doctoral students under the Alumni Monitoring and Doctoral Student Monitoring initiatives. Best Teacher awards are also given to the academic supervisors of students who have won the Student Research Paper Competition.
This year, the number of best teachers delivering faculty pool courses has more than doubled. Another important innovation was that students had the opportunity to write messages of gratitude to their chosen teachers.
The award named 630 staff members as best teachers, including 532 teachers chosen by students, 76 chosen by alumni, and 97 academic supervisors of Student Research Paper Competition winners.
This year, 69 teachers were recognised in two separate categories, and three teachers were recognised in three separate categories: Alexandra Staruseva-Persheeva (HSE Art and Design School), Ekaterina Lapina-Kratasyuk (School of Media) and Konstantin Polivanov (School of Philology).

HSE University First Vice Rector
The twelfth HSE University Best Teachers vote has concluded, and we still see that students are interested in the elections—the median turnout exceeded 90%. As in previous years, in addition to student voting, some of the teachers were awarded based on the results of alumni monitoring, as were the academic supervisors of students who have won the Student Research Paper Competition.
I would like to offer my traditional congratulations to all my colleagues who received the honourary status of best teacher. This year saw a record number of winners: 630 teachers. One of this year’s new features is that students can send a gratitude message to their nominated teachers. In the near future, students will be able to send these messages using their university email.
The English version and the voting results for HSE University’s campuses in St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Perm will also be posted soon.
