Second day of Winter school 2018

Lectures of leading political scientists, master-classes, heated debates, and project work till the late evening. 


The second day of Winter school 2018 started with a lecture of Yury Gaivoronsky who provided the insider information about the work of the Laboratory of regional political studies. After the coffee-break, the participants had a private chat with the first and second year students of two master programs “Applied Political Science” and “PEP”. Students were eager to answer all the questions, shared their stories and gave advice for the future applicants.

The second lecture “Peculiarities of modern electoral campaigns” was presented by Alexander Kynev who discussed pitfalls of studying electoral systems and analyzed the main trends of Russia’s electoral process.

In the evening the guests of the Winter school participated in interactive master-class on political management. The professor from MA “Applied Political Science” Varvara Vasilyeva discussed the nuances of political PR after which the participants applied this knowledge to analyze examples of real campaign materials.

The academic part of the second day finished with the presentation of MA programme “Politics. Economics. Philosophy” by its head Oleg I. Ananyin. The rest of the day was devoted to the project work.
