On April 11 during the XVIIIth April International Academic Conference in HSE Professor Milan Svolik (Yale University) made his honorary presentation "When Polarization Trumps Civic Virtue: Partisan Conflict and the Subversion of Democracy by Incumbents". After his presentation Milan Svolik had a meeting with PoliSci students participating in the research project "50 shades of authoritarianism” (Prof. Andrei Melville). We managed to talk with Prof. Svolik on the margins of the conference.

On July 23–28, Poznan hosted the 24th World Congress of Political Science, organized by the Polish Association of Political Science and Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of Adam Mickiewich University in Poznan. The student of HSE master program “Applied Social Psychology” Yana Maria Priestley took part in the Congress.

The seminar ‘Symbolic politics and social constructions of past”, organized by the School of Political Science of the Higher School of Economics and the RC on political ideas and ideologies of the Russian Political Science Association was held on the 12th of May.  Prof. Graeme Gill will present the paper ‘Symbols and Post-Communism: an inherent ambiguity?’

The Higher School of Economics has launched IQ.hse.ru, a new research and educational website containing articles featuring the results of the most interesting research carried out by the university staff, as well as video lectures, presentations of academic papers, and recent books.
