- According to UN projections, the US population will begin to decline in 2037 if “zero migration” forecast comes true, and in 2041 if “low fertility” forecast comes true
- Total fertility in the United States fell to 1.64 in 2020 and, according to UN forecasts, by mid-century has a 95% probability of being between 1.17 and 2.18
- Life expectancy at birth increased in the USA to 78.8 years, but during two years of the pandemic it decreased to 76.1 years; according to UN forecasts, the upward trend in life expectancy will resume and by the middle of the century will rise to 84 years
