Course Syllabus
Abstract
This course is designed to introduce students to key philosophical ideas and debates. The first module focuses on issues in Moral and Political Philosophy; the second module on issues in Metaphysics and Epistemology.
Learning Objectives
- Be able to to read, analyze, and reflect upon the ideas presented in the philosophical texts
- Be open to seeing and thinking about the world in new ways
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Be able to present and engage with a range of classic philosophical problems in the Western tradition
- Be able to read and engage with philosophical texts
Assessment Elements
- ExamThe final exam will be a take-home exam consisting of questions requiring short answers (one or two paragraphs each). Students must turn in the exam in Ms Teams. The exam questions will be uploaded in MsTeams at least 24 hours before the deadline.
- Participation Module 1Each student is required to post a reading response on the website of the course, for a total of twelve reading responses
- Participation Module 2Each student should post a "reading response" on the website of the course before each seminar, for a total of 12 readings responses for the whole course
