Maritime Territorial Disputes in Northeast Asia in Current Japan’s Foreign Policy

The paper focuses on the analysis of Japan’s foreign policy in Northeast Asia on the issue of maritime territorial disputes. Regarded time period is limited to 2009-2014. Territorial disputes under study are: south Kuril Islands, Senkaku/Diaoyu archipelago, Dokdo/Takesima islands, Socotra rock, North limit line. In case of the same situation as the current, territory disputes are the key issues for defining Japanese foreign policy. Because of the economic cooperation development necessity, Japan would decide to support stability in the region.Keywords: Northeast Asia; Japan; USA; China; Republic of Korea; DRPK; foreign policy; maritime territorial disputes.
