Informal communication in industrial organization «Askona»

<p>In conditions of modern world, communication is one of the most important tools for the implementation of management process in the organization.</p><p>This study considers the internal communication within the organization. Today the extent of significance of internal communications steadily increasing because communication processes act as the main liaison between the staff and management of the organization in a hierarchical organizational structure of the enterprise management.</p><p><strong>Goals and objectives of the research</strong></p><p>The aim of the investigation is to study the problems in the communication process of the industrial organization &quot;Askona&quot;, and develop recommendations for the HR department to overcome them.</p><p>The study is planned to achieve the following objectives:</p><p>&bull; Analyze and synthesize existing knowledge and understandings of communication processes in the organization and their features;</p><p>&bull; Analyze the features of the construction of communication flows in an industrial enterprise &quot;Askona&quot;;</p><p>&bull; Develop recommendations for improving the current system of communication and solving existing problems.</p><p><strong>Methodology</strong></p><p>Questionnaires were chosen as the main research method for studying informal communication processes. It has clear goals and objectives, a preliminary action plan for the collection and analysis of information, standardization of basic research procedures, processing of the results. This method is one of the most important and effective means of scientific research, as it provides high efficiency of getting information. It is appropriate for conducting mass studies. Also questionnaires are not time-consuming and can be used in combination with other methods of empirical knowledge.</p><p><strong>Results</strong></p><p>Analysis of existing theory about this problem has shown that unconfirmed information propagating through informal communication channels prevent the effective exchange of information in the organization. It happens because the staff tries to reach a common understanding of the situation and to have the same opinion as the others.</p><p>If unconfirmed information is important for employees, then this information is transmitted at high speed. Every manager needs to have the most complete and accurate information, relevant at any period of time. Lack of information, as well as inability to support timely communication with the staff members in a comprehensible way, leads to a decrease in efficiency and to the emergence of rumors. Therefore, the staff is eager to get more data, ignoring the fact that the accuracy of this information is not the highest.</p><p>Informal communication exists at all levels in all organizations. It is known to be as an unofficial source of information, that is why messages transmitted over this channel are not always reliable. Despite this, the employees deprived of free access to information in the company, have to believe informal messages because it is really difficult for them to verify their authenticity</p><p>In the process of organizational communication often arise barriers to successful implementation of information exchange. These problems arise due to incorrect information perception, semantic barriers, lack of feedback between the communicants, non-compliance with the existing rules of the exchange and provision of information.</p><p>The analysis of informal communication processes in industrial organization &quot;Ascona&quot; proves the value of the role that this type of communication plays in the success of the company.</p><p>Communication in the organization directly affects the efficiency and productivity of employees. Therefore, the manager should pay attention to the informal communications and always be aware of how employees are satisfied with existing volume of information. This study demonstrates that the HR department should always be guided by the needs of workers; take into account the communication channels which are most convenient for the staff and the form of messages in which it is easier for them to perceive information.</p><p>In this study recommendations were developed for HR managers to improve the enterprise communications systems. Using these recommendations leads to the successful construction of communication processes, as well as to the creation of a common information space in the company. It organizes and provides safety information and increases the efficiency of the management of the organization.</p>
