Development of a Doorbell on the Concept of "Smart House"

<div>The <strong>aim</strong> of the thesis was to develop a small sized and inexpensive device, which would have established the stairwell next to the entrance to the apartment , was connected to a standard doorbell and let:</div><ol><li>record video of all the people who are in the stairwell</li><li>broadcast online video</li><li>view recorded video and online video on website and on application for Android</li><li>notified by email and sms on activation doorbell</li></ol><div><strong>The hardware part</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>As a basis device was selected SBC Raspberry Pi Model B.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Video recording is conducted in HD by RPi Camera Board (5MP, 1080p).</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>For broadcast online video is used the camera Logitech WebCam (2MP).</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Not to record video continuously , but only moments when the camera view people, is used the motion sensor PIR Motion Sensor HC-SR501.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>As GPIO ports can not supply the voltage greater than 3.3 V, it is impossible to connect the Raspberry Pi to electrical doorbell . Therefore, it was purchased AC / DC voltage converter PT- 4503 , which takes the input 220 V, and the output voltage drops it to 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>All elements of the device are placed in a black plastic case 151x90x53.2 mm.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>The software part</strong></div><ol><li>Python</li><li>Bash</li><li>PHP</li><li>Java</li></ol><div>Objectives of the thesis have been fully implemented. Created small and inexpensive device which performs all functions assigned to it . However, there are some <strong>drawbacks </strong>arising in the possibility to be implemented in the future.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>First, Raspberry Pi is a server and on it are all the videos and the Web site, access the Internet for Raspberry Pi requires a static IP address , which provides the majority of providers for a fee .</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Secondly, it follows from the above points is another problem - the site and Android app can work only with one device .</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>To solve these problems it need to make a separate server that would preserve video of all such devices and had a system for individual users access to the site and in the Android application.</div>
