The relationship between personality characteristics and motivation to volunteer

<p>The relationship between two main psychological predictors of participation in &nbsp;volunteering activities (personality characteristics and motivation to volunteer) is analysed in this paper. In addidion to prosocial behavior theory volunteering is also considered from social capital theory perspective. The empirical research confirmed a positive relation between Openness personslity trait, generalized trust, tolerance and motivation to volunteer. The hypotesis that motivation is a mediator between personality characteristics and volunteer behavior was also confirmed.&nbsp;</p>
