Modelling of Interrelation Between Migration and Economic Growth

Abstract to Graduation qualifying work on the theme of "building a model interrelation between migration and economic growth" Student from the faculty of “Economic sciences” Ayvazov Ruslan In this paper, an attempt has been made to build a model of the interrelation of international migration and economic growth of countries. In the work, various theories and models of both the international and internal migratory processes on the basis of which factors for migration modeling have been chosen are considered. The study used extensive statistical tools, allowing conduct rigorous model building. The first chapter provides an overview of the bibliography of Russian and foreign researchers in the field of migration and economic development. In the second and third chapters, a detailed statistical analysis is carried out. Building a model of international migration was conducted on cross-section data and panel data that revealed not only short-term trends, but also the long-term influence of some factors on the level of migrants in the countries. Despite the fundamental study of migration, the work does not allow to draw conclusions about the current migration situation in the world. However, the results are quite interesting and can be used for later more modern modeling international migration processes. Throughout the work, there are various graphics for easier and evident understanding. Also in the main body of the study briefly commented upon the results obtained in statistical packages. More detailed results are presented in the annex. All calculations were made in several statistical packages such as R, Stata, and Gretl.
