Waveguide Stop Band Filter with a Magnetic Wall on the Mushroom-Shaped Metamaterial Investigation

Student: Sidorova Tatiana

Supervisor: Andrey A. Yelizarov (Elizarov)

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Infocommunication Technologies and Systems (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2017

The project consists of 39 pages, 19 pictures and graphs and 20 sources. The diploma includes introduction, the main part with three chapters, conclusions and bibliography. This work is dedicated to the examination of metamaterial structures in rectangular waveguide filters with a view to exploring their potential application. This major objective outlines the general tasks concerned on developing a configuration of the waveguide and the metamaterial, the creation of a software model of the object and receiving quantitative characteristics of S-parameters and VSWR. All collected data is appropriately organized in terms of convenience to compare the figures and submitted as the frequency dependence plot which is more representative and straightforward for analysis. On the basis of the values obtained it is possible to reach conclusions about the qualitative transformation of the waveguide properties under the influence of a mushroom-shaped metamaterial and prospects for the future integration this systems in the microwave devices.
