According to the theoretical approaches and the results of scientific researches (both foreign and Russian), it was found that present-day employees have a specific needs and expectations from the employer. The problem of the current study is the case of the international construction company called POLIMEKS. The company in 2016 faced with high young employees turnover. The purpose of this paper is to study the peculiarities of the labor behavior of the present-day Russian young specialists. The purpose is to identify the factors that influence the formation of the needs and expectations of young employees. Moreover, the most attractive aspects of working life for young professionals should be determined. Based on the obtained data, we should identify meaningful links that indicate the reasons for the mass layoffs among young employees in POLIMEKS. Based on interviews conducted with young specialists, a questionnaire was prepared to conduct a quantitative study. The results of the survey were analyzed. According to the survey, there are high salaries in POLIMEKS and employees appreciate it, but there is a lack of aspects of working life, such as the possibility of professional development, career growth, the availability of interesting responsibilities and the possibility to have a work - life balance. This situation does not suit young workers. The needs and expectations of young professionals are influenced by such factors as marital status, level of education, financial position, availability of mortgages and life aspirations. The main reason why young employees leave the organization is the discrepancy of working life with the needs and expectations of young people. In the POLIMEKS company employees are promised about career prospects and development opportunities, but the company does not fulfill its promises.
