The paper is devoted to the investigation of legal regulation of the freedom of movement for workers within the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. The research claims that the freedom of movement for workers is better regulated in the EU than in the EAEU, which is testified through the application of descriptive and analytical methods as two types of formal legal research. The paper provides the determination of the key characteristics of legal regulation of the freedom of movement for workers within the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. It states that in comparison with the EU regulative norms, the legal regulation of freedom of movement for workers the EAEU contains the gaps, which requires to be improved in order to provide an effective protection of the foreign workers rights. As the regulation in the EU shows it effectiveness, it seems that the similar legal mechanisms should be adopted by the EAEU legislation.
