This thesis is devoted to a full cycle of a book development from an idea to a fully-fledged edition. The aim of the project is to create a book on the Soviet experimental furniture made during the period from the middle of the 1950s to the middle of the 1970s. The objectives of creating a book were set and achieved. Research was conducted to collect material jointly with the editor and the author of the texts, Artem Dezhurko. The layout has been created, and the concept and structure have been thought out. The grid and styles have been formed. Photographic materials have been collected and processed. The design of the chapters and the cover have been developed. The book has a relatively small size of 165x205mm, which is due to the quality and size of the images. Its shape represents a crucial element with its corners rounded with a large radius that refer us back to the style of the 1960s. Moreover, this shape reminds of the old Soviet TV, through the prism of which we look at the experimental furniture. The book structure was thought over in a way to create a striped edge resembling a veneer sheet. Such an effect was achieved through alternation of different types of content, parts of which were printed on specially selected kraft paper, whereas the other parts were printed on sheer lightweight paper. In a book, there are four main chapters devoted to large-scale exhibitions of experimental furniture. They are interspersed with the text chapters on less significant exhibitions, furniture design-engineers, furniture factories, and overall historical context. In the end of the book a photo album with contemporary photos of the Soviet furniture is presented to the attention of readers. There is also a reference section on the last pages of the book. As a result, a fully-fledged book based on the material was created, ready for publication.
