Techniques to Predict the Success or Failure of Startups

Year of Graduation: 2018

Goal: To outline qualitative and quantitative criteria for early-stage companies valuation, define, which of them are the most important and demonstrate, how they influence the market potential of a startup. Tasks: 1. To study existing approaches to the startup evaluation; 2. List the criteria that are commonly used by investors; 3. Evaluate the list of Russian companies by these criteria using the data for there early-stage period. Main results: 1. Existing venture projects evaluation technics and their limitations are studied. Multi criteria analysis based approach is proposed as an alternative; 2. Weighted list of the criteria, recommended for startup valuation is presented; 3. The existing companies valuation is ran to verify the approach; 4. Described approach is used for the new startups evaluation.
