Development of Small and Medium Business in Russian Federation on the Example of Nizhniy Novgorod Region: Problems and Perspectives

Government support for small and medium-sized businesses is relevant in the modern world, because small businesses are vulnerable and prone to dynamic development at the same time. In this paper, the main concepts of small and medium-sized businesses are disclosed, and also the system of state support in the Russian Federation is considered. The directions of the government's activity in support of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Nizhny Novgorod region have been determined, and the main socio-economic indicators have been singled out in the region. In the practical part of the work, the effectiveness of existing state programs on the direction of financial support is analyzed, and another type of state support is proposed by using the example of an enterprise in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
