At the moment, in the context of a general decline in economic sustainability, many companies are trying to reduce their costs through modern management systems, one of the most notable is Lean Management. Lean management is an approach to run an organization that supports the concept of continuous improvement, it uses methods for eliminating factors that waste time, effort or money. This is accomplished by analyzing a business process and then revising it or cutting out any steps that do not create any value for customers. Throughout the literature on Lean Management, it is generally agreed that value stream map is one of the best tools to map a process and to identify its main criticalities in order to enhance lean manufacturing. There are a lot of articles provide practical experience of the use of the “Value stream mapping” tool at the industrial enterprise. On the other hand, there are also a lot of companies which spend enormous budgets on implementing Lean Management and don’t get any results, because their processes are too difficult and messy, so it’s become impossible to build the detailed value stream map. And what is the reason of these fails? What are main limits of VSM? These problems of applying VSM hasn’t been investigated by many researchers, it’s difficult to find any information about disadvantages of Lean Management and VSM, in particular. And that is why in my work I will try to redefine all of those misunderstandings and probate my new approach on the local company.
