Street crime is one of the most urgent problems of modern society, caused particular concern of citizens and law enforcement authorities. Due to this fact, such type of offences leads to serious danger to public safety. Moreover, the continuous finance-economic crisis reflects on street crime that leads to the negative impact the public atmosphere. The increase of street criminal activity influences public resonance. It should be noted that the main problems of street crime are absence of a legal definition of “street” and “street crime”, as well as high level of latency of such acts of crime. The absence of legal definition of “street crime” leads to permanent arguments between scholars on the interpretation of this concept and lack of clear classification of street illegal activity. Improvement in normative basis and establishment of street crime's coherent system will facilitate both Courts’ and law enforcement authorities’ activities, eliminate misinterpretation of “street crime” term and provide the separate type of crime, covered and governed by Criminal law. After wide investigation, we can potentially propose that it is necessary: to optimize the activities of law enforcement agencies, as well as to most effectively account for crimes committed on the streets, it is necessary to fix the term “street”, “street crime” and “street criminal” in one of the departmental regulations. At the legislative level, it is necessary to fix such a thing as a “street criminal”, in addition, to add the identity cards of the criminal about his characteristic signs. Also, as a result of the study, it was revealed that street crimes have a high level of victimization. We suppose that it is precisely the regular collection and analysis of information about victims of street crimes that will allow to achieve effective results by reducing the repeated susceptibility to street attacks.
