This paper describes how the deterioration of relationship between two post-Soviet countries, Russia and Ukraine, influenced entrepreneurial activity in Russia. We do so by checking whether distance to Ukraine plays a role in deterioration/improvement on financial activity of Russian companies. In order to achieve this goal we considered regression analysis of difference of revenue before and after crisis on different explanatory variables, stressing out the distance to Ukraine variable. It was found, that companies located closer to Ukraine suffered more than others. However, the question is open for the further investigation as coefficient at this variable is low.
