Effects of Open Banking for Financial Organizational Field in Russia

The introduction of Open Banking in Europe has become a challenge for incumbent banks threatening the old business models. Meanwhile Russian banking market incumbents actively support the introduction of a similar project. Taking into consideration that such changes can enhance the competition and disrupt incumbents' advantages, incumbents' reasons to support Open Banking do not seem obvious. This research takes an attempt to shed light on the reasons of incumbents' support of Open Banking using economic sociology theories.
