Unfair Advertising in Russian Legislation

Advertising is an effective attention-getter. Moreover, advertising promotes business development and other kinds of activity. Advertising industry is noted for the creative nature that associates with some creative freedom, however, the mentioned freedom isn’t characterized by the absolute degree. The Federal Law of 13 March 2006 No. 38 on Advertising defines standards and rules for advertising. The good faith requirement and inadmissibility of unfair advertising are among the mentioned standards. For the purpose of this paper the features of the term «unfair advertising» were investigated. Also the characteristics of the types of unfair advertising were analyzed on the base of the main trends of the law enforcement practice.
