Visual Framing of Political Protest: the Arab Spring in Documentary Films

This research is about the influence of the political context of Russia on the formation of interpretations of political protest in documentary films on the example of the Arab Spring. Documentary film is considered as a product of the influence of the political context and the discourse of power. The paper identifies the factors of influence on the interpretation of political protest in five documentaries about political protests in the Middle East and North Africa, which were shown on Russian television.
