Legal Aspects of Determining the Insured Value of Property

The thesis considers legal aspects related to the determination of the insured value of property. The author found that the common way of determining it is controversial and inconsistent with purposes of insurance. Accordingly, the aim of this thesis was to offer the most suitable way to determine the insured value of property. In order to accomplish the aim, the author considers general theoretical foundations of property insurance, common options for determining the insured value of property, their positive and negative aspects with respect to insurance, and analyzes other legal aspects affecting the insured value of the property. As a result of the work, the author offers a method for determining the insured value of property, which, providing the opportunity of the most complete insurance of subjective interest in preserving it, at the same time does not allow enrichment from insurance.
