In the final graduation work in Psychology and Psychoanalysis, the subject of which is “Symbolism of poetry in psychoanalysis. Acceptance of traumatic experience through the poetic form ”, the author raises a number of questions. These questions are lying at the intersection of psychology, philosophy, linguistics and other studies and relate to a wide range of issues, such as creativity and the unconscious, the connection of thinking and speech, language and consciousness. The theoretical part of the graduation work is based on the works of Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Rene Roussillon, Andre Green and many other scholars, who raised the question of how repressed fantasies and traumatic experiences can be expressed through creativity and works of art. How the symbolism of works of art, their metaphor in poetry in particular make it possible to compare them with dreams. All these materials provided the prerequisites for formulation and partially confirmation of the hypothesis that the client brings in the session with the consultant the works of art (poems) that are closely connected with his personal repressed memories. The works of art introduced into the session are the basis for work with free associations, the opportunity to create a safe space within the session for the process, which allows to restore the knowledge about repressed desires and traumas that are expelled into the unconscious. The practical significance of this work is the new look at the psychoanalytic approach, where the session is considered as the space, where creative energy is released, where a process of co-creation arises between the consultant and the client. The process that can only happen “here and now” and therefore is individual and unique, so everything that is brought into the session is full of meaning. We can say that the symbolism and metaphors used in psychoanalysis are similar to those used by poets. During the session, the consultant and client build their own “poem” of internal relationships filled with emotions, feelings, drama, in which catharsis is possible for the client to be cleansed and relieved of those anxieties and feelings that gripped him.
