In our time, it is difficult to come up with an original, unusual and working game project. Much has already been done and developers have to be sophisticated to create a unique product. But what should people do who are just beginning their journey into the endless journey of the game industry? Many young developers, making their very first game, try to cram a huge number of complex mechanics into it, which is a big mistake, since it is almost impossible to make such a project alone, or an enormous amount of time will be spent. The research is aimed at identifying techniques that help in creating a unique game concept from scratch. A person who has never been involved in game development will be able to create their own game in a short period of time, starting from the methods presented, which will be convenient for them. Research methods: content analysis of video games of different genres, especially a lot of time was spent on the analysis of the quest genre, analysis of literature, video materials, online courses, films, and inductive reasoning. Based on the results, several methods were identified that are used to create a concept. The first method is the concept from the plot. A certain sequence of events attracts the player and gives him a push to explore. The second method is a concept from aesthetics. Aesthetics in the game — a set of complementary elements of the environment causing a clear semantic and sensory series. The third method is a concept from mechanics. And the last method is the concept from sensations. The data obtained will be used to create a diploma project-the video game "Demon", as well as to create a course on creating game concepts from scratch.
