Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in the Courts of the USA and Canada: a Comparative Analysis

This work is devoted to the analysis and comparison of the institutions of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in the United States and Canada. The paper analyzes the general provisions of the institution of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, its nature, sources of regulation of the institution in the USA and Canada, the application and understanding by the courts of the USA and Canada of the principles of reciprocity and courtesy, the procedure for the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in accordance with laws and common law of the United States and Canada. The work also reflects the main problems of the institution of recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments in the United States and Canada.
