A properly implemented employee adaptation process of newcomers is considerable both for them and for the organization in which they start working; because before filling a vacancy, companies spend a lot of resources in the recruitment and want to recoup their investments as early as possible. The newly hired employee, in turn, wants to have the least stressful experience of integrating into the new environment. In this regard, if the organization of the adaptation process is weak, there is a risk of a number of negative consequences occurring up to staff retirement. This work is aimed at preventing the occurrence of organizational costs, it reveals the essence of personnel adaptation, and also contains a comprehensive analysis of the adaptation system in the company. In the theoretical part of the study, various approaches to understanding adaptation are presented, its types are revealed, and the characteristics of the stages and tools of personnel adaptation are given. The practical section reflects the analysis of the adaptation system at OOO Lukoil-Perm. Based on the results of the study, the author of the work proposed a set of measures to optimize the adaptation process of the enterprise.
