Intercultural Attitudes and Psychological Well-being of Muscovites: The Role of Perceived Threats

To date, there is a lack of research revealing the moderating role of perceived threat in the relationship between intercultural attitudes and psychological well-being among residents of the Moscow region. The purpose of the present study is to reveal the relationship between perceived threat, intercultural attitudes and the psychological well-being of Muscovites. The study involved 186 respondents over 18 years of age, residing in the Moscow region for over 3 years, ethnic Russians. The study used scales from the MIRIPS questionnaire. Correlation, moderation and mediation analyses were conducted, and a structural equation modelling method was used. As a result, the moderation role of perceived threat was revealed to be influenced by the expression of Moscow identity.
