The paper refers to the investigation of the influence of regional and institutional factors on the level of trust and the level of reciprocity. In particular, we employ the data collected in 2020 by Laboratory of Experimental and Behavioral Economics of HSE within the trust game experiment in combination with the regional statistics for 2016-2020 and the statistics about corruption collected in 2012 by Public Opinion Foundation. We investigate how empirical decisions of participants in that game correspond to their attitude towards corruption patterns, regional statistics, social and governmental factors. In our research we found out that Russian people are more trustful than expected, especially to people from the same group. Attitude towards corruption patterns indeed has an influence on the level of trust, but not as straightforward influence as we expected.
