Visualization of a Music Album in a Form of Photography (Creative Project)

Student: Elza Khalilova

Supervisor: Konstantin Leyfer

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Communications (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2023

This final qualification work is dedicated to the creation of a photo project "When life gives you lemons" in the format of a long-read based on Beyoncé's album "Lemonade." The goal of the media product is to develop a unique creative photo project at the intersection of two art forms, photography and music, in order to explore the theme of a strong woman's image in the situation of partner infidelity. The project features original photographs, expert commentary on relationship psychology, and quotes from the songs of the musical album. The theoretical part of the thesis examines the key aspects of photography, approaches to visualizing musical compositions, the meanings of the album "Lemonade," and the fundamentals of producing photo projects. The project description outlines the concept of the project, its essential components for creating a high-quality product such as the target audience, competitive analysis, and project plan. The implementation stages of the project are also described in details. The legal section provides a description and analysis of all possible legal issues in the context of the photo project, along with methods for resolving them. Finally, the creative section showcases the final outcome of the work —a one-page website for the project — providing a description of its content and including additional developments that were not included into the final product.
