This study is based on data from the Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey (RLMS-HSE) for 2010-2021 and aims to determine the relationship between family status (complete family and single-parent family) and the academic performance and health of children in Russia. Based on the experience of previous researches, to measure the impact of family status (complete or single parent) on academic performance and child health, I use a linear pooled regression model with control for various factors that can also influence dependent variables. From the results obtained, the effect of the absence of a father in a single-parent family on a child's academic performance is a decrease of 3%, with all other factors remaining constant. The effect of the absence of a father on children's health is an increase of 2%, while all other factors remain the same.
