The problematic field of research of the Department of additional education is associated with the creation of regional model centers of additional education (hereinafter – RMC) in 85 regions within the framework of the National Project "Education". Regional model centers as the "core of the regional system of additional education" (Kosaretsky S.G.) were created in order to manage the development of regional systems of additional education for children (hereinafter referred to as DOD), administrative regulatory documents have received the functionality of organization and coordination in the regions and new mechanisms for involving and accounting for children (coverage) of DOD. The national project has been implemented, the RMC is functioning, the coverage of additional education has been completed. But have regional model centers become the "management core" of the development of additional education in the regions? The work became a search for an answer to this research question.
