Annotation The work is a master's thesis on the development and testing of an extracurricular activity course “Knowledge for Living in Society” for children with disabilities studying in the ninth grade. The program was developed after a thorough study of the scientific literature on the issues of teaching children with disabilities and the regulatory legal framework affecting this aspect. Inclusive education became the subject of focused attention of educational scientists throughout Russia about twenty years ago. There has been a fundamental change in the educational concept. Today we have achieved a powerful merging of correctional and general education schools. However, there are still deficiencies in the integration of children with disabilities into mainstream schools. The problem of the research is to find a conceptually new course of educational activity, which, like a designer, will be transformed individually to the personality of the student. Testing of the course proved that the personal, subject and meta-subject results of students gave positive dynamics. Keywords: limited health opportunities, extracurricular activities, additional education, mental retardation, federal state educational standard, educational program, secondary vocational education, approximate adapted educational program, “Strategy for the development of education in the Russian Federation for the period until 2025”, inclusion, integration, variability
